Customer Review: Don't buy this defective Chinese-made Microwave Oven!
I never liked Haier appliances because I had unpleasant experienced with several defective Chinese-made Haier appliances, especially for this microwave oven. They broke down many times. That frustrated me. Now I realized that Communist Chinese manufacturers plotted to weaken our economy by outsourcing our jobs to China and sending their defective and dangerous products to us. The Communist-ideological clever devious scheme forces us to buy more low-quality and defective products from China in order to gain exorbitant profits for their glorious Red Chinese Communist victory! Don't buy Chinese-made products or you will be a big sucker!
Customer Review: Don't even think about it
A leading consumer organization tested this model. All five units they tested were defective! Other Haier models have received poor grades from Amazon reviewers. Need I say more?

Sanyo EM-S9515W Family Size Microwave Oven Sanyo Fisher Home Appliance / Microwave, 10 Power Levels, 20-5/8x12-11/16x18-3/8, White / SNFEMS9515W
Customer Review: Good for the price.
This microwave shipped quickly, and although I was worried about damage in shipping, it arrived fine. In use, it has a rotating plate inside that is a little jerky and makes little bumping noises as it rotates when in use. I had a Wal-Mart one in the past that did the same thing. It is a little annoying, but I guess it gets the job done.

Panasonic NN-SD967S 2-1/5-Cubic-Foot 1250-Watt Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel 2.2 CUBIC-FT CAPACITY 1-TOUCH SENSOR COOKING 1250W INVERTER TECHNOLOGY INVERTER TECHNOLOGY DELIVERS CONSISTENT MICROWAVE ENERGY KEEP WARM FUNCTION TURBO DEFROST 6-DIGIT DISPLAY
Customer Review: Great Product and would not hesitate to Buy Another!
This is technologically the best microwave that I have ever owned. I have only had it about a week, but the turntable is what elevates it above my first microwave, a 1976 or 77 Tappan-Touch with browning element. The browning element was hardly ever used, so I did not require one when I bought this Panasonic. This microwave actually replaced my 1979 Amana RadarRange, whose timer had finally given out. I saw no reason to repair the extremely heavy beast due to door wear, aging of insulation, and other such considerations. The new Panasonic weighs much less than the older microwaves, so even I can pick it up and move it. The pop-out dial simplifies the board use and is an improvement in the ergonomics. It is very easy to learn how to use. The sensor function cooks TV dinners to perfection. The inverter defrost works well, also, and is a great improvement over my previous ovens. My only complaint is the heaviness of touch required to depress the door latch button/panel. They really should use a weaker spring on these. The display is not too bright and is welcome in dimmer lighting or in the dark. (I don't regard this as an energy vampire, because I need the clock feather visible and because extreme energy use resulting in global warming are really, at their hearts, human overpopulation issues and won't be solved in my kitchen. Also, I've converted all my lighting to low-energy use fluorescent, etc, so it's hard to feel guilty for having an electronic clock display that I need to be able to see all of the time.) I also recommend this microwave because of the size. One can never have a wide enough turntable. I will also be able to finish-cook a decent-sized turkey in this oven to moist perfection, after pre-browning it in my regular oven. I bought the 2 year extended replacement warranty just in case the fuse or other parts should prematurely burn out, as they sometimes do on the more inexpensive microwaves, and recommend this. Although this has a popcorn feature that works well, I found out that studies have shown that the cooking of popcorn is what most often prematurely kills microwaves because popcorn doesn't have much moisture or enough material to absorb enough of the microwaves when it cooks (and neither does bacon). So just avoid cooking popcorn and put in a cup of water when you cook bacon and you should be alright. That 2-yr extended warranty, either from Amazon or directly from Panasonic in the paperwork, should help with your peace-of-mind. What a great product, overall. Thank you Panasonic! (And thank you Amazon for quickly replacing the first one that showed up with both the front door and the back dented in from shipping damage. The replacement was perfect and works perfectly as well!)
Customer Review: Real Workhorse!
I bought this for our office, servicing 40+ people. Huge capacity and runs like a dream. Great for office party because you can heat up those larger dishes. Very good product no problems at all!

Sanyo EM-U1000W Compact Microwave Oven, White

Sanyo EM-U1000W Compact Microwave Oven, White Compact
Customer Review: Great little microwave
Got this for my mom and have used it several times myself. It's compact enough to fit sideways on a narrow counter, which is what she needed. My only warning is about the popcorn button. It leaves the bag about half-popped. I'm assuming that you can set the timer for a longer cook time and have it do better, though. It also doesn't have a convenient quick-cook button (Minute Plus type). But it does a great job overall and is pretty.
Customer Review: Well built and thought microwave oven
I have purchased this microwave and used it for over a year. I really like it, and it is packed with nice features and well built.

Highlights:
- bright LED that displays the time and cooking settings. It has 2 colors: green and red.(compared to a LCD on most cheaper ovens - I am not mentioning mechanical jogs ones).
- Nice handle to open and close the oven door
- 800W cooking power: it has been plenty for me, and it is power efficient on the electrical bill side.
- Supports multi-stage cooking with preselections
- Original design
- Easy to clean touchpad
- Nice build quality, no loose parts
- Turn table of over 10 inches is a quite respectable size for this oven.
- Reduced footprint on the counter top space.

Customer Review: Lousy microwave
We bought this microwave at Bestbuy after doing some research into what's a dependable model. We paid $165 on June 30. Today is Aug 12, and the microwave broke already! We don't abuse our appliances and are basically gentle users. Today I tried to heat up some frozen bread for 10 sec, and it goes on for 1 sec and turns off by itself. The turntable no longer turns. I tried all the other features, and the same thing happens - it turns on for a sec or 2, and then lights out. What a piece of junk! How can they sell an appliance that lasts less than 6 weeks??????????
Customer Review: Nice oven with a few drawbacks
Our twelve-year-old Kenmore finally died. After a lot of research, we finally decided on this brand and model.

Pros:

This is a large oven. Anything that doesn't fit probably should not be cooked in a microwave anyway. It is a powerful oven. Things that took 90 seconds in our old oven only take 60 seconds in this one. Function programming allows you to turn the clock on/off and the beeper on/off (see Cons). Operating noise is very low. Full-power cooking requires only setting cook time and pressing start. The "Sensor Reheat" function works well as long as your food is not covered (and anything with tomato products or beans probably should be covered).

Cons:

Our biggest complaint is the noise it creates when closing the door. This produces a very loud, tinny clang that can be heard all through the house.

Although it is a large oven, it is lightweight and quite often pushing the door release will slide the entire oven backwards.

Changing the power level requires pressing the power level button multiple times - e.g., defrosting at 30% level requires pushing the power level eight times. Our old oven required only two - power level and 3 on the keypad.

Likewise, setting nine minutes on the "Quick Min" function requires pushing the "Quick Min" button nine times and then pressing start. Our old oven required only pushing "Quick Cook" and 9 on the keypad (without having to press start).

The keypad had no tactile feel. If you turn off the beep function, you need to pay close attention to the display to make sure the key you pressed actually activated. Turning off the beep function also turns off the end-of-cycle beep. Since the end-of-cycle beep is not nearly as loud and irritating as our old oven, we chose to leave this function "on."

Conclusion:

Although not perfect, we are satisfied overall after using this unit for two months. Based on a number of other reviews, we did purchase the extended warranty.

Customer Review: Nice microwave
The microwave is fine. I miss having a "one minute" button that you can push for 1-? minutes. It may have one but I haven't read the instructions.
Customer Review: Good, but not awesome, microwave
I'm totally enamored with my LG washer/dryer and had really high expectations on this microwave. I've had it about a month now and while it's a good microwave, I have to admit I'm not completely overwhelmed by it's greatness.

The good: It has the sensor cooking, it's very powerful, it has a shelf so you can cook a number of items at once and I can fit my 9 x 13 casserole dishes in there!

On the other hand: It's loud (louder than my dishwasher and wash machine), the sensor is a little hit and miss and the shelf is a bit low and gets in the way whenever I place a no-splatter cover over items I'm cooking.

The sensor bases the cooking on the amount of moisture in the microwave, so the problem could be that I'm covering the items too tightly or not tightly enough. But it's been undercooking on the Sensor Cook items and overheating on the Sensor Reheat items. It's not a huge issue. I can still leave the kitchen and know that the food will be somewhat close to what it needs to be if I'm not back in time.

Overall, it's a definite upgrade from what I had. And if you're searching for a sensor-cook over-the-range microwave at a good price, this one will work for you.

As a side note, Amazon provided great customer service. We received the microwave about a week after ordering, but it came with a big dent in the corner of it. (Whoever shipped it didn't provide any extra packaging and I'm sure it happened during shipping.) I contacted Amazon and they provided a return mailing slip and sent a new microwave that arrived days later in great shape.

Customer Review: Died after 16 months!!!!
We received this microwave from our wedding registry. We were thrilled when we got it and it worked fine for 16 months, then one died, I pressed 'start' and it totally shut off. I thought I blew a fuse, but nope everything else around it was still working. I tried other outlets and the thing never turned back on! Just like other people said, it just died on us. I thought cuisinart was reliable but I will NEVER buy that brand again.
Customer Review: Not able to enter the cooking time!?
A microwave that has a numeric keypad but doesn't allow you to enter the exact amount of time you want something to cook? This is not understandable. I like cooking my veggie burgers 45 seconds each side. It cooks them just right. Problem: you can't just press 4-5-START on this microwave. You can only cook things in increments of 30 seconds. Give me a break.

GE JES735WJ .7 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven

GE JES735WJ .7 Cu. Ft. Capacity Countertop Microwave Oven General Electric GE JES735WJ 0.7 Cu. Ft. Compact Microwave w/ Turntable - White
Customer Review: Small Footprint, Small Price
I bought this little microwave for my sister, who lives close to me and has a small kitchen.

I can remember paying several hundred Dollars for my first Radarange back in the late 70's and it was huge! I have a GE that doubles as a range hood and in many ways this resembles that unit, only smaller.

As do most of these ovens, this one has electronic buttons for all the functions. This makes greasy handprints, etc., easy to wipe off. The finish seems certainly nice enough, inside and out, for its minimal price.

There are preprogrammed buttons for popcorn, etc. My sister never uses them so I can't testify to their usefulness. It appears to me to be just as easy to punch time in.

One feature which I have on my GE, and is also on this one, is the weight-programmed defrost. I have grown to use it very often to defrost frozen meats and it appears to work just as well on here. My GE, though, will stop every few minutes to remind the user to flip the meat; this little oven doesn't. For the price, I can understand this. This is not a really powerful microwave: 700 watts. On my larger GE one can program the intensity but this unit appears to always run at the 700. On the defrost one can hear the magnetron cycling on and off. Certainly, with the meats we've tried it works quite well.

The only drawback for me would be its limited floor area inside. One of my favorite micro dishes is NordicWare's circular ribbed tray. I bought one for her and it won't turn, just too large. Her Corelle dishes all fit, but I can envision some dinner plates as being too large.

All in all, for the price it appears to be a fine little unit, particularly for the user who mainly wants to heat up foods and do popcorn. It has been trouble-free.
Customer Review: Works fine, fits well, costs little!
After much research, I bought the slightly bigger GE Spacemaker microwave that you can attach underneath your kitchen cabinets. It cost nearly $250 after tax on sale at a major retailer. When I got it home, despite having measured carefully, I found that it just didn't look right--it jutted out a bit and seemed too big for the space. So I returned it and bought this one, in black (slightly different model number--JES 735BJ), at a major electronics and appliance chain for $54 plus tax. It looked much better in my limited space, and after almost two months of fairly frequent use (several times per day heating up drinks, leftovers, etc.), it hasn't had any problems. It's a great little microwave if you have fairly basic microwaving needs, don't want something that's going to take up most of your counter space, and don't want to spend a lot of money. So far I'm very pleased with this purchase!

Customer Review: It's Big! It's Intelligent! It's Fast, Fast, Fast!!!
You better make sure you have room on your kitchen counter for this one. It's standard height but long and deep. It's got room to cook a Thanksgiving Day turkey. It's got plenty of features that will please the best chef including pulse defrost that will fully defrost your food but not cook it. Be careful with this unit as it is very powerful and will cook and/or reheat your food in half the time it use to with a less powerful unit. Also, it heats uniformly. No more cold centers with hot edges. Because it heats the food so quickly, it maintains the moisture within the food and doesn't dry it out. I've only had it for 2 months so I can't talk about reliability yet, but it is a Panasonic and I don't expect any problems. If you've got the room, buy this one!
Customer Review: Not a popcorn machine!
75% of microwaving at our house is popping popcorn. My old Samsung was the greatest popcorn popping microwave EVER, and rarely left more than 5 kernels at the bottom of the bowl. I wanted another microwave just like it, but couldn't find one. Instead I bought this one because it got such great reviews, and was powerful like my Samsung. It is just about the most worthless popcorn microwave ever. If you use the popcorn button you end up with about 1/3 cup of kernels unpopped. To get a decent pop I have to cook each bag for 1 minute on high, and then 2+ minutes on Power 8, and it still isn't that great and burns it half the time. For other things it's fine, although the meat defrosting doesn't work as evenly as my old Samsung either, and some of the meat stays frozen while the outside gets a little cooked. If you make a lot of popcorn, don't buy this microwave.

Customer Review: Incorrect dimensions
I had to ship this oven back because the dimensions listed at Amazon.com are incorrect. The oven was too large for my shelf. If you're buying one to fit a particular space, note that the unit is 16 inches deep, 12 inches tall and 21 inches wide. Also, you can't see the food cooking through the window because of the heavy screen.
Customer Review: Okay For the Price, But Not Great
I bought this to replace a 5-year old Sharp microwave and I chose it because it was the same size, which I needed for space constraints, and had the same features (sensor cook, sensor reheat, defrost and timer). The first thing I noticed was how tinny it seemed compared to the solid feel of the old one.

The second problem was the door--which doesn't open when you depress the latch release; you have to depress AND open the door manually. I think that's a design flaw, not a safety feature, and it's inconvenient.

The third drawback is the window on the door. This one has a grid of small holes on one side with horizontal lines on the other. It's impossible to see how the food is cooking without opening the door.

Otherwise, it seems to work fine, but I wouldn't buy it again.
